Anglesey, in common with the rest of Wales, has a strong musical tradition. This is reflected in the number of choirs, bands and other entertainers that perform regularly on the island.
Both of the island’s prominent arts and culture centres host music and other live entertainment. The Ucheldre Arts Centre at Holyhead has frequent evening concerts and films, while concerts at the Oriel Ynys Môn Anglesey Museum and Arts Gallery, Llangefni include the occasional Noson Lawen – evenings of traditional Welsh music and song.
For a further taste of Celtic folk tradition, try one of the regular monthly Celtic Folk Evenings produced by the Ffynnon Gwerin (Folk Well) company. These take place one Saturday night per month at St Cyngar’s Church Hall in Llangefni and feature traditional Celtic song, dance and music performed to a professional standard by world class performers. These are family friendly evenings. Phone 01248 421071 for more information.
